God's Plan of Salvation Over the ages people have asked, "What must a person do in order to be saved? or How can I get to heaven?" The Bible clearly teaches us about eternity and answers these inquiries which continue to dwell within our hearts and minds: Step One A person must recognize his / her spiritual condition, Scripture explains: "There is not a righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins." Ecclesiastes 7:20 (NASB). "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23 (NASB). Sin has an adverse effect upon a person's relationship with God because He is altogether holy, therefore a sinful person can not coexist within His presence: "But your iniquities have separated you from our God" Isaiah 59:2 (NASB). Our sin also produces harsh eternal consequences: "But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars-their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death." Revelation 21:8 (NIV). Step Two God loves us and desires for all people to be saved! Despite our rebellion and separation, the Lord has created a solution for our sin problem so that we would not have to suffer eternal separation and damnation. You must realize that God LOVES YOU and WANTS YOU TO BE SAVED! "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16 (NASB). Step Three A person must realize that good works, religous rituals, sacraments, or church attendance can not and will not wash away sin. "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 (NASB). "But when the kindness of God our savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our savior, that being justified by His grace we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life." Titus 3:4-7 (NASB). "In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation (sacrificial payment) for our sins." 1 John 4:10 (NASB). "He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit." Titus 3:5 (NASB). Step Four God's plan of salvation rests upon His work, not ours, that is why His son, Jesus Christ, came into the world to offer Himself as a sacrifice for our sins. Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead in order to redeem humanity from sin. One must recognize the identity and work of Jesus in order to be saved: "But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 (NASB). "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23 (NASB). "For I deliver to you as of first importance what I also receive, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures." 1Corinthians 15:3-4 (NASB). "For He delivered us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. And He is the image of the invisible God, the first born of all creation." Colossians 13-15 (NASB). "And according to the law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." Hebrews 9:22 (NASB). Step Five The Bible explains that an individual is saved by placing his or her faith in the person and finished work of Jesus Christ. "But as many as receive Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God,even to those who believe in His name, who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." John 1:12-13 (NASB). "WHOEVER WILL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED" Romans 10:13 (NASB). Have you received His gift of everlasting life and entered into a relationship with the Lord? If you have not been born again, if you have never trust in Jesus and Jesus alone to wash away your sins, then we would like to invite you right now to pray and receive His precious gift of frogiveness: Lord Jesus, I know that I have sinned and ask for your forgiveness. I believe that you are God's Son, that you died on the cross, and rose from the grave. I invite you into my heart as my Savior and am trusting in You alone to wash away my sins. Thank you for forgiving me, please help me to follow you from this day forward. Amen. Where Do I Go from Here? Accepting God's gift of salvation is the beginning of a wonderful relationship with the Lord. Like any other relationship, it requires time and effort to cultivate. We come to know the Lord through prayer, reading the Scriptures, attending a Bible beleiving church, and engaging in fellowship with other Christians. Consequently, we would encourage you to begin developing a close intimate relationship with Him. If you would like additonal information on how this process occurs, please drop us a quick e-mail, we will be glad to send you some free literture. The Security of a Believer A person who trust in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior can rest assured that his / her relationship with the Lord is permanent, it can never be shaken because no one can lose their salvation. "He who has the son has life; he who does not have the son of God does not have life." 1 John 5:12 (NASB). "These things have I written to who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have eternal life." 1 John 5:13 (NASB). "In Him, you also, after listing to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation--having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is given as a pledge of our inhheritance, with a view to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of his glory." Ephesians 1:13-14 (NASB). "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand." 1 John 10:27-28 (NASB). |
