Our Missionaries

The Newport baptist church believes that support for both domestic and foreign missionaries lies within the scope of the "Great Commission" which was given to us by Jesus Christ prior to His ascension. The following missionaries are an extension of our local church family who serve the Lord through a variety of ministries. Rich and Wanda Jo Mellette
Brossard Quebec, Canada
The Mellette's planted a church in that city several years ago. Rich serves as the congregation's pastor and conducts extensive evangelistic outreach programs annually. The Mellette’s work in conjunction with the agency UFM International.
The Fold Family Ministries
Lyndonville, Vermont.
The Fold which is located on a small working farm houses, educates, and counsels teenagers who experience addictions, behavioral problems and or domestic difficulties.
Duane and Trish Gregory
Livermore Falls, Maine
Duane and his wife live in Maine, but travel extensively across their home state, plus New Hampshire and Vermont attending meetings, clubs, and soliciting new churches to participate in the Word of Life program.
Doug and Jan Hamm
Vienna, Austria
The Hamm's work with Child Evangelism Fellowship (C.E.F.) in Yugoslavia by setting up “Good News” and “Mail Box” clubs. The Hamm’s have been serving in Europe for approximately 4 years reaching children of all ages. Recently, they were forced to move to Austria due to political unrest in Yugoslavia, however, they cross the border regularly, despite the danger, to carry out their ministry to children.
Cris and Bill Rhyner
Frederick, Maryland
Cris and Bill Rhyner work in conjunction with Partners in Hope, a new medical missions group they founded 2 years ago which ministers to people in India. Partners in Hope works in conjunction with a larger missions organization, Hope-givers International. The Rhyner’s live in Frederick, Maryland; Bill manages the logistics of the ministry on the home front while Cris travels abroad utilizing her medical and administrative expertise by networking doctors and pastors who can meet the needs of people in specific areas. The Rhyner's involve themselves heavily in local church outreach programs, schools, and orphanages throughout India.
Beth Ann Knoblock
Caracas, Venezuela
Beth-Ann Knoblock serves in Caracas, Venezuela with TEAM, an evangelical church-planting mission based in Wheaton, Illinois. Beth-Ann works as a support staff member, handling accounting duties for the missionaries and various aspects of the ministry of TEAM Venezuela. God has given a common vision to TEAM and to two national church associations in Venezuela- to work together to establish a network of Impact Churches in strategically located cities across the country
